Announcement - Gifford Linder
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gifford (Giff) Linder.
Through life, when faced with obstacles Giff would always rise to the challenge. Taking a stand for what he believed in, he was a man of few words but of strong presence and character.
Diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, Giff met his strongest opponent yet, but confronted the illness courageously, practically and with grace. If it was taking him down it was going to be on his terms!
At home, at work, throughout the community and industry, Giff’s passing will be met with an unquestionable loss of knowledge, mana and steadfast commitment. “If it’s worth doing it’s worth doing well, so let’s get on with it” he would say, and so we would. Giff would always lead the charge with his sleeves rolled up and a no-nonsense attitude that made things happen.
Seen as the Godfather of the Lifting Industry, Giff set extremely high standards and worked relentlessly to build the frameworks that will underpin the industry for many years to come.
Close to retirement age, Giff created a haven of solitude for himself and family and was known to enjoy the peace offered by these tranquil surroundings. Here he could quietly reflect on a life well lead, glass of Pinot Gris in hand.
Gifford Linder – Husband, Dad, Brother, Friend, Boss, and mentor to so many
